NBA Official: Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens named Executive of the Season

The NBA officially announced on Tuesday that Brad Stevens, the 49-year-old president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics, has been named the Executive of the Year for the 2025/26 season.

This is Stevens' second time receiving the NBA Executive of the Year award in his executive career. He was first named in the 2023/24 season, leading the Celtics to their 18th NBA championship that season.

As the head of the Celtics' basketball operations, Stevens has demonstrated exceptional crisis management skills this season. With Jayson Tatum suffering a torn Achilles tendon, he decisively traded Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, and opted not to re-sign Al Horford and Luke Kollnet, bringing the team's total salary below the luxury tax threshold while simultaneously restructuring the roster.

Thanks to Stevens's orchestration, the Celtics maintained strong competitiveness this season. Relying on outstanding performances from players like Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard, they ultimately finished the regular season with a 56-26 record, ranking second in the Eastern Conference.

According to the selection mechanism, the NBA's Executive of the Year is chosen by a vote of a basketball operations executive appointed by each team. Stevens won with a landslide victory, receiving 11 first-place votes, 4 second-place votes, and 2 third-place votes, totaling 69 points. Atlanta Hawks General Manager Onsie Saleh came in second with 1 first-place vote, 10 second-place votes, and 6 third-place votes (41 points), while Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Trajan Landon came in third with 6 first-place votes, 3 second-place votes, and 1 third-place vote (40 points).

In addition, Jeff Peterson (Charlotte Hornets), Sam Presti (Oklahoma City Thunder), Brian Wright (San Antonio Spurs), Rafael Stone (Houston Rockets), Brian Gregory (Phoenix Suns), Kobe Altman (Phoenix Suns), Josh Kroenke (Denver Nuggets), Zach Kleiman (Memphis Grizzlies), and Rob Pelinka (Los Angeles Lakers) also received some votes.
