League of Legends Easter Egg Hints at New Character from Legends of Runeterra

Riot Games recently launched a mini-game "The Demon's Hand" in the "League of Legends" client, which not only brings a new interactive gameplay, but also quietly reveals clues about the next Darkin hero who will join the canyon. The game revolves around the new epic wild monster Atakhan, revealing how he was imprisoned by Leblanc, and also hides more stories about Darkin through comic easter eggs at the end.

In the final comic clip of the game, Leblanc mentioned a "new Darkin weapon" in the conversation with Vladimir, which made players speculate that a new Darkin hero is about to come. According to the background setting of Legends of Runeterra, this weapon with self-awareness is the iconic power of the Darkin - just like the greatsword and the animated sickle "Rhaast" held by Aatrox and Kayn.

The detail of LeBlanc asking Atakhan "where is the new Darkin weapon" perfectly fits Riot Games' consistent style of "using plot to guide heroes online", and also hints that a deeper world line of Runeterra is about to unfold.

Recently, League of Legends has just introduced Mel from Legends of Runeterra into the game. As the settings of many Darkin characters in Legends of Runeterra gradually surface, fans speculate that this new Darkin who is about to appear may be the official incarnation of an existing background character in League of Legends, or it may be a completely new original character.
