League of Legends: Dplus KIA (DK) have renewed the contract of wonderkid jungler Lucid..

Foreign media outlet Sheep Esports exclusively reported on Wednesday that LCK powerhouse Dplus KIA (DK) have renewed the contract of its Korean wonderkid jungler, Choi Yong-hyeok (ID: Lucid).

According to the report, although the news has not yet been officially announced, insiders have discovered that the League of Legends Global Professional Player Contract Database shows Lucid's contract has been extended to the end of 2027.

In addition to him, his teammates, support player Oh Hyung-suk (ID: Career) and top laner Jeon Si-woo (ID: Siwoo), have also had their contracts extended to the end of 2027.

The contract renewal with Lucid demonstrates Dplus KIA (DK)'s trust in the 21-year-old prodigy who joined their academy team in 2020 and was promoted to the main team in 2024.

Recently, Lucid and his team also helped them defeat their formidable rivals and reigning World Championship champions, T1, in the lower bracket semifinals to advance to the LCK Cup finals.

Lucid, promoted to the first team in 2024 at the young age of 19, faced the immense challenge of succeeding Kim Geon-bu (ID: Canyon).

In just a few seasons, despite not always meeting fan expectations, he steadily won over fans with consistently high-level performances.

Although his performance was sometimes inconsistent and he occasionally made mistakes, Lucid recently repaid his fans' support with a brilliant performance in the LCK Cup lower bracket semifinals against T1.

His precise mechanics and decisive play during the Smite phase helped DK turn the tide of the game, ultimately earning him the series MVP award.

Currently ranked in the top three of the LCK Cup, Lucid and DK will face BNK FEARX in the lower bracket finals this Saturday in Hong Kong.

They will compete for a spot in the First Stand and have the opportunity to face Gen.G again in the grand finals.
