Nicolas Sewald stated that he would not hesitate to play in that position if the team needed him.

For fans who have followed RB Leipzig's matches this season, Nicolas Sewald is undoubtedly a familiar face. The Austrian international has made 32 appearances this season, starting 31 of them, and his performances in multiple positions on the field are equally reliable, comparable to his consistent performances as a defensive midfielder.

Nicolas Sewald was forced to fill in at center-back after Castello Lukeba suffered an injury in the match against Werder Bremen. He had previously played in that role against Cologne and Wolfsburg earlier this season.

Nicolas Sewald said: "I've played in that position many times this season, so it hasn't changed much for me. Of course, some adjustments still need to be made, but I've adapted very well and am now quite used to playing in that position."

The match against Werder Bremen was particularly special for Nicolas Sewald, not only because he temporarily filled in at center-back, but also because it marked his 100th appearance in the RB Leipzig jersey.

Since his transfer from Red Bull Salzburg to RB Leipzig, the Austrian international has made 79 appearances in the Bundesliga. After a year of adjustment, Nicolas Sewald gradually adapted to the higher intensity and pace of the new league and solidified his place in the starting lineup in his second season.
