Marco Silva believes Fulham lacked aggression after losing to Liverpool.

Fulham were unable to change the score after conceding two goals in the first half of their Premier League match in the 32nd round of the 2025/26 season, ultimately losing 0-2 to Liverpool. Marco Silva stated that his team lacked aggression both in possession and off the ball.

In the 13th minute, Wirtz passed the ball diagonally, and Ngumoha received it and curled a shot past the defender to give Liverpool a 1-0 lead. In the 40th minute, Ngumoha passed the ball to Salah, who received a cross from Gakopo and fired a shot into the net, extending Liverpool's lead over Fulham to 2-0.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Fulham's attack was cleared, and Rodrigo Muniz received the ball and curled a shot into the net, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.

Ultimately, Fulham lost 0-2 to Liverpool at Anfield.

Fulham manager Marco Silva said, "The game was decided in five minutes. In my opinion, the outcome was already decided in the first half. At that time, we were not aggressive enough in our play, both with and without the ball."

“At times in the game, we allowed Liverpool to build attacks too easily, and we lacked the necessary intensity off the ball. That’s why they had chances and controlled the game for most of the first half.”

Marco Silva pointed out, "The first goal conceded was a good example, including the goalkeeper's long pass, the way they contested for the ball in the air, the lack of communication between our two players, Salah's first touch, and the way they fought for possession before Ngumoha's brilliant shot."

"This reflects the way we played in the first half. For a Premier League game, that level of aggression is far from enough, let alone a game we were eager to win."

Marco Silva said, "The second half was completely different. Whether with or without the ball, our style of play and aggression improved significantly. I know Liverpool were the ones leading, but we won back a lot of possession in the attacking third, were more aggressive, and created more chances."

“But we weren’t ruthless enough. If we could score a goal, it would create a completely different situation on the pitch and with our opponents. Smith Rowe had a golden opportunity, and if he had scored, the course of the game could have been very different.”

Furthermore, Marco Silva added, "We tried to bring the score back to 1-2, but we weren't decisive enough. Liverpool capitalized on their chances in the first half, which had a huge impact on the game."

"But as a team, we are more like the second half than the first half. To win the game and achieve our goals, we must play more like we did in the second half, not the first half."
