Al-Qadsiah announced on his official website on Tuesday that the club had extended the contract of former Real Madrid Spain international defender Nacho Fernández.
According to Al-Qadsiah's official statement, Nacho has signed on a new short-term one-year deal which will only run until the summer of 2027.
About Nacho Fernández
The 36-year-old Nacho was born on January 18, 1990, in Madrid, Spain. He is 1.8 meters tall and primarily plays as a center-back, but can also play left-back or right-back. His younger brother, Alex, is also a professional footballer, playing as an attacking midfielder for Cádiz.
Nacho joined the youth academy of Complutense, a local non-league club in Madrid, at the age of nine. At eleven, he joined Real Madrid's renowned La Fabrica youth academy, began playing for Real Madrid's reserve team in 2009 and completed his Real Madrid first-team debut in April 2011.
During his 13-year spell at Real Madrid, Nacho made 364 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing 10 assists. During which he led the team to 6 UEFA Champions League titles, 5 FIFA Club World Cup titles, 5 Supercopa de España titles, 4 La Liga titles, 3 UEFA Super Cup titles, 2 Copa del Rey titles, and 2 Segunda División B titles.
After his contract expired in the summer of 2024, Nacho joined Al-Qadsiah on a free transfer.
Since joining Al-Qadsiah, Nacho has made 69 appearances for the Saudi Pro League club in all competitions, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist.
