European esports club G2 Esports announced a strategic partnership with NORD Esports to officially form a new League of Legends team, G2 NORD.
The team will participate in the Prime League, the top regional league in the German-speaking region of EMEA (DACH), marking G2's official return to the youth training ecosystem after a three-year hiatus.
Since ending its partnership with G2 Arctic in 2022, G2 has lacked its own youth academy system. Faced with the fact that LEC competitors are actively developing young talent through their second teams, G2 has decided to double down on long-term talent development.
G2 NORD will be led by renowned streamer Tolkin and aims to provide young players with elite coaching resources, performance support, and a direct path to the professional arena.
The new roster is led by former LEC jungler veteran Markoon, and supported by several promising young stars:
On the road: Shelfmade, a European celebrity (who was once considered by Fnatic)
Mid Lane: North American player supporting Europe, Tooasty
Bottom Lane: Rin, a player from the 2025 EMEA Summer Finals, teams up with veteran Tokimo.
• Head Coach: Nicolas Perez, who has returned to NORD, will serve as the new head coach.
G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte stated that this restructuring of the youth academy is not only for talent development but also to deepen the connection with German fans. Through G2 NORD, the organization hopes to establish projects that foster a sense of belonging among local fans, allowing them to truly feel like they are part of "G2ARMY".
