Limited-edition skins over the years: Phoenix Seeking Phoenix is a timeless classic, while Monkey King, despite pioneering the series, ranks at the bottom. (Part Two)

If T0 represents the top-tier, then T1 represents the premium. The list of finalists online is remarkably a mix of popular professions and top-rated heroes. A product series, especially a limited-edition one, is a complex issue. Skin marketing isn't just about production costs or quality; it's about branding. Just like any glamorous outfit needs a spokesperson to attract attention and leave a lasting impression, once something is appealing, people will naturally scrutinize the others. Therefore, the results of the limited-edition bestseller list change dramatically every few days. One week, a top-selling figure might be overtaken by a less popular hero, and the next week, a top-selling hero might be an underdog.

T1: Tiger's Auspicious Flame, May It Illuminate All Beings, Radiant Hour

The Year of the Tiger features Lu Ban No. 7's Tiger Flame, the Year of the Rat features Hou Yi's Radiant Dawn, the Year of the Ox features Praying for Snow Spirit, the Year of the Pig features Kai's Azure Dragon Will, and the Year of the Snake features Tan Ji's Wish to Illuminate All Beings. The initial release feels good, the posters and models are very attractive, it's selling popularity, the appearance rate is relatively high in low to mid-ranking players, it appeals to both men and women, and is suitable for all ages. It's a rare treat to get a New Year limited edition, so I didn't hesitate to spend the money.

Several designs stood out in this tier, despite featuring relatively niche heroes. Their designs broke away from established trends, showcasing a unique side. These designs received high scores on forums, garnering increased attention from netizens. With support from fans of the original characters, sales were decent, such as "May the Nine Provinces Expand" and "May the Thousand Autumns Prosper." The Year of the Snake limited edition, released in 2025, saw improved quality, making each design visually appealing. However, none particularly stood out or caught the eye. While they were high-quality, they were still far from being considered classics.

T2: Riding the Dragon Treasure Ship, Sailing on the Azure Waves of Mountains and Seas, Guided by the Thunder of Mountains and Seas, Spreading the Wings of the Tiger

T2 can be described as mediocre, not particularly attractive, perhaps because expectations were too high. Compared to other games in the series, it appears slightly average, falling within the basic range. The quality is good, but it could be better. There won't be a high demand for limited-edition reruns these days, and future releases will eventually replace it. It has significant flaws, falling short of being a top-tier title. If it were released outside of the Lunar New Year period, its reception would be different. Limited-edition titles from previous years are generally above average; even epic titles would be relegated to legendary status. Similarly, with popularity, flaws are overlooked. Titles like Angela's Dragon Treasure Ship, Yao's Mountain and Sea Azure Waves, and Yao's Mountain and Sea Thunderous Guide are just gimmicks.
