Jonji announces his return to the CS2 scene: I'm ready and willing to return in any role.

Canadian CS2 player Jonathan Carey (ID: Jonji) recently released a statement on the X platform, officially expressing his strong desire to return to the professional scene. He has been on hiatus since December 2024 due to a busy work schedule.

Jonji, 26, plays rifle and has played for numerous teams throughout his career, including Insomnia, subtLe, eUnited, Rise Nation, Ronin, Atmosphere, Etherian, Armada, Freedom 35, Resolute, BlackOut, Cantwinalan, The Quest, New Identity, Riot Squad, Bad News Bears, Chaos, Partyz, EG White, ATK, and MIGHT. His most notable achievements include helping Chaos win the IEM Beijing Haidian North American Regional and DreamHack Winter Masters North American Regional tournaments in 2020, and achieving 3rd-4th place in the ESL One Cologne North American Regional tournament that same year.

In his return statement, Jonji wrote: "I just want everyone to know that I hope to return to the CS scene. In what form will I return? I haven't decided yet—it could be teaming up with a group of like-minded friends who will do anything to win, or it could be joining a team that needs me. Frankly, I'm willing to do anything. I believe I can be competent as the offensive rifleman I'm used to, or I can transition to a more support role."

“I know I’ve been away for a while, and to be honest, it was necessary. I’ve been in a high-intensity state since I was 16, almost non-stop in front of the computer.”

“I learned a tremendous amount of knowledge during my break, and I really wish I could have mastered it all before I became a professional player at 16. My work experience over the past three years has made me realize what I once had, and I wish I had realized it back then. But that’s life. The most important thing is that I always persevere after every failure, and I believe that I can always make a comeback.”

"Failure is learning, and victory is teaching. I am ready and willing to dedicate all my accumulated experience to teaching without reservation."
