Lynn Vision's failure to make a single playoff appearance and directly qualify for the 2026 Cologne Major has sparked heated discussion.

Recently, in the Counter-Strike 2 "Jade Kirin Peak Cup Season 3" competition, the Chinese team Lynn Vision did not fire a single shot in the playoffs and won the championship by "lying down" thanks to their opponents' three consecutive forfeit matches.
It is reported that in the first round of the playoffs, Lynn Vision was automatically declared the winner after their original opponent, Rare Atom, withdrew from the competition. Subsequently, the veteran team TYLOO also chose to forfeit due to a scheduling conflict with another tournament.
Even more dramatically, TYLOO fought their way back from the loser's bracket to the finals, but withdrew again before the final match due to health reasons. Thus, Lynn Vision was crowned champions without playing a single game in the playoffs.
This series, won without a fight, earned Lynn Vision 122 VRS (Valve Regional Ranking) points, and more importantly, it helped them directly secure a valuable spot at the 2026 IEM Cologne Major.
However, this result has caused a huge uproar in the esports community. Many commentators and players have questioned the current VRS points system in the Asian region, worrying that the mechanism has serious loopholes and could easily become a breeding ground for cheating and malicious score manipulation in the future.
In response to the controversy, Lynn Vision issued a candid statement. The team acknowledged that qualifying for the Major in such a bizarre manner was indeed unbelievable, and while they understood the public's skepticism, they stressed that they had not violated any rules and had simply become the luckiest team under the current system.
As of now, Valve has not commented on whether it will patch the VRS system in the next Major cycle. However, industry insiders point out that if such vulnerabilities persist, the company may face significant public pressure.
