McKennie praised Spalletti for always inspiring players to become better.

American star Weston McKennie, who plays for Italian giants Juventus, recently spoke about head coach Luciano Spalletti in an interview, saying that Spalletti is a wise coach who has always helped players become better.

Spalletti, who previously coached the Italian national team, became Juventus' manager last October. Juventus currently sits 5th in the Serie A standings with 57 points, having won 3 and drawn 2 of their last 5 matches.

So far this Serie A season, McKennie has contributed 5 goals and 6 assists for Juventus, and 4 goals in the Champions League.

McKennie, 27, said, "I get along very well with manager Spalletti. I think every player has different needs, and the manager has different expectations of each player. But every time I see the manager, he makes me feel at ease."

“When he criticizes players, he never does so harshly; his intention is always to help them improve. Some coaches can be embarrassing, but Spalletti’s personality makes players realize they need to get better. He always commands everyone’s attention when he speaks; he is experienced and very wise.”

McKinney also said, "He always said that a player can get past four opponents and score a goal, and then he's happy. But if he provides a great assist, then two people are happy. That's why I say he's the best manager of my career. From his results to the way he manages the team, he's a truly outstanding manager."
