The Athletic exclusively reported on Wednesday that, Barcelona and Real Madrid are closely monitoring Osasuna's Spain international winger wonderkid Víctor Muñoz.
The report states that both Real Madrid and Barcelona are very satisfied with Muñoz's performances and have sent scouts monitor the player multiple times.
Currently, neither club has decided whether to pursue their interest in Muñoz this summer, but it is certain that the wonderkid has become a potential transfer target for both clubs.
However, if they do decide to compete for the signing of Muñoz, Real Madrid will have an advantage over their arch-rivals.
When Muñoz joined Osasuna last year for an initial fee of €5 million plus €1 million in add-ons, Real Madrid included a buy-back clause in the agreement.
Los Blancos can trigger Muñoz's buy-back clause within the next three years for €8 million.
If the transfer goes through, Muñoz will become the second former La Fabrica academy graduate, after Álvaro Carreras, to be re-signed by Real Madrid in recent years.
About Victor Muñoz
The 22-year-old Muñoz was born on July 13, 2003, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. He is 1.73 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger, but can also play as a right winger or center forward.
Muñoz joined Barcelona's renowned La Masia youth academy at the age of 14. In 2022, he moved to its arch-rivals, Real Madrid's La Fabrica youth academy, started playing for their B team in 2023 before completing his Real Madrid first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in the El Clásico in May 2025.
In July of the same year, Muñoz moved to Osasuna for an initial fee of €5 million, plus €1 million in add-ons.
This season, Muñoz has so far made 34 appearances for the La Liga club in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists, helping the team reach the Round of 16s in the Copa del Rey.
