Chelsea have officially announced the dismissal of manager Rosénier, with McFarlane to serve as interim manager.

Chelsea released a statement on Wednesday confirming the dismissal of Liam Rosseneil as manager.

The 41-year-old Rossenier previously managed Hull City and Strasbourg before taking over at Stamford Bridge in January, replacing Enzo Maresca. He led the team to 11 wins in 15 games at the start of his tenure, but only managed one win in the subsequent eight matches.

When Rossellini left, Chelsea were in a slump, suffering five consecutive league defeats without scoring a single goal. They were currently eighth in the Premier League with 48 points from 13 wins, 9 draws, and 12 losses, and were at risk of dropping into the bottom half of the table at any time.

Regarding this personnel change, Chelsea stated in their announcement: "On behalf of the entire Chelsea Football Club, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Liam and his team for their hard work during his tenure."

“Since taking over mid-season, Liam has consistently acted with the utmost integrity and professionalism.”

"This decision by the club was not made lightly. Given the team's recent results and performances have not met expectations, and there are still many goals to be achieved this season, we had no choice but to make this adjustment. The entire Chelsea team wishes Liam all the best for the future."

Rossene's tenure at Chelsea was originally scheduled to end in June 2032, with a remaining salary of £24 million. According to French media outlet L'Equipe, Chelsea will pay Rossene approximately £10 million to £12 million as severance pay.

Chelsea have not yet made a decision regarding Rossene's successor. They are currently searching for a new manager and have temporarily placed U21 coach Callum McFarlane in charge of the first team. According to the official announcement, the 40-year-old McFarlane will manage Chelsea until the end of the season.
