Virgil van Dijk: You need to stay focused to win games

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has stressed how Liverpool must stay focused for the remainder of the season in order to win every game.

Liverpool currently has 60 points and is ranked first in the Premier League, 7 points ahead of Arsenal, which is in second place. Liverpool will have two more Premier League games in February, away to Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Recently, Van Dijk was interviewed by reporters and said about the team's status: "I don't know what others think. I can only say what I think personally and tell the players what to do, because I have experienced such a situation and failed twice."

"The only thing to do is to focus on ourselves. We have to try to win every game and if we do that, obviously we will be successful. We have to focus all our energy on ourselves, which is difficult enough."

"You saw the problems Wolves caused us and Wednesday will be very difficult. If you focus on other things or other teams, it will only backfire. Some players in the team may focus on other teams, but it will not help us."

"We have to continue to win, no matter what happens, continue to fight for every three points. I think we did the same thing when we won the championship in 2019-20. We have to keep improving, keep moving forward and ultimately find a way to win."

"We will give everything we have and see if it is enough in the next 13 games. It is all about taking it game by game and not focusing on other teams because we cannot influence other teams and situations."
