Parma officially announced on Monday that 51-year-old Fabio Pecchia will no longer serve as first-team coach.
Fabio Pecchia started his coaching career in August 2009 and has served as head coach for Gubbio, Latina, Verona, Fukuoka Hornets, Juventus U23 and Cremonese. He has been in charge of Parma since July 2022, leading the team to 46 wins, 32 draws and 32 losses in 110 games.
Parma's performance this season continues to be sluggish. After 25 rounds, it ranks 18th in Serie A with 4 wins, 8 draws and 13 losses and 20 points. Although Pecchia led Parma back to Serie A as the champion of Serie B last season, his poor performance on the top stage eventually caused the club management to lose confidence in him.
According to the latest news from Italian transfer reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Parma currently has a candidate for the new coach. They invited 44-year-old Inter Milan star Christian Chivu to take over the team, who also flew to Italy for negotiations on Monday night. Both parties are expected to sign a one-and-a-half-year contract until June 30, 2026.
