Pep Guardiola believes the team must accept their poor performance in the Champions League and learn from their exit

Manchester City lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said the team must accept the fact that the team's performance in the Champions League is not ideal.

This was the fourth time in the past four seasons that Manchester City faced Real Madrid, having lost on penalties last season and won the trophy by a landslide the season before. But Pep Guardiola congratulated the 15-time champions on their victory and said it was the first time he felt his team was second. Therefore, the team decided to work hard to get back to their best form.

"The best team won and they deserved the award," said Pep Guardiola. "We have done well in the Champions League in the past, reaching the semi-finals and final, but not this season."

"I feel like we were better than them in the first three years, but this time they were better than us. They can run, they can hold the ball for a long time, they can press high, they can move dynamically, and they are also very good defensively, so they deserve to win. We need to learn from it, accept the fact of defeat, and keep working hard to move forward."

"We are fourth in the Premier League and it is not easy to play here. Even though we won at home, I know how strong they are. We have 13 Premier League games now and we will try to continue playing next year. Our performances are getting better, so we have to do our best."
