French Ligue 1 club Nice officially announced that it has completed the contract extension with Ali Abdi. The new contract will be extended by one year on the original basis until June 30, 2027.
Ali Abdi, 31, was born in Sfax, Tunisia, and made his official debut from Kairouan in November 2011. He then played for Tunis Hope, Tunisian Sports, Africans, Paris FC, Caen and other teams, and transferred to Nice for 500,000 euros in September 2024.
Abdi has long been a left back, but in Nice he plays more of a left midfielder role. So far, he has played 20 times for Nice, contributing 2 goals and 2 assists, helping the team to temporarily rank third in the standings this season with 11 wins, 7 draws and 4 losses and 40 points.
After completing the contract extension, Abdi said: "I am very proud to play for this great club for another season and I am very happy to feel the club's trust in me through this contract extension. I am very eager to create brilliance with the team. We have an excellent lineup and coaching team, and the final stage of this season is also very exciting."
He concluded: “I hope our results and fighting spirit on the field can make the fans proud.”
