Palmeiras officially bought out Barcelona wonderkid Vitor Roque's ownership rights after FIFA finally approved transfer procedure changes..

Palmeiras announced on its official website on Friday that after procedural changes, FIFA has approved the club to officially buy out the rights of Barcelona wonderkid Vitor Roque.

According to Palmeiras' official statement, Roque has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the winter of 2029.

In addition, Spanish media outlet Relevo's renowned Italian transfer journalist Matteo Moretto also brought news and added the reason why this transfer's issues can now be reversed.

He revealed that since he had reported a few days ago that the transfer which was originally intended to be carried out in the form of a loan, might be rejected by FIFA due to procedural issues and cancelled, Barcelona, Palmeiras and Real Betis, the club where Roque was previously on-loan, have started tireless and active negotiations to find the most perfect solution to resolve this matter as soon as possible.

Finally, after negotiations with the other party, Real Betis agreed to give up Roque's player registration rights this season after receiving partial compensation fees, so that the player's registration rights can be transferred to Palmeiras with the special approval of FIFA.

In order to buy out Roque's ownership, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A powerhouse paid Barcelona a total of €25 million in transfer fees.

With the release of this statement, the transfer soap saga between Roque and Palmeiras, which has troubled fans for several days, has finally came to an end.

About Vitor Roque

Roque, who is only 19 years old, was born in Timoteo, Brazil on February 28, 2005. He is 1.74 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a winger.

Roque joined the America Mineiro youth academy at the age of 10. He was poached to the Cruzeiro youth academy in March 2019 and made his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in October 2021.

In April 2022, Roque transferred to Atlético Paranaense for a record-breaking 24 million Brazilian reals, becoming the player with the highest transfer fee in the latter's history, and won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A once with the club.

In July of the following year, , Roque joined Barcelona for €30 million.

However, because he was deprieved of playing time after joining Barcelona and was treated badly, Roque's agent Andre Cury slammed the Blaugrana in May 2024.

In August 2024, Roque was loaned-out to Real Betis.

This season, Roque has played 33 times for the La Liga powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 2 assists.
