The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) announced on Tuesday through its official X (Twitter) account that it will hold a preseason tournament before the grand opening of the 2025 LCK Cup.
According to the LCK's official statement, the preseason tournament, called "2025 Season 1: Invitation to Noxus", will be held at the LCK Arena in Jongno Park, Seoul, South Korea on January 10, local time. During the tournament, continuing the format of last year, players who played in the same role will form a team and compete against teams composed of players in other roles in the form of a "five-to-five" match.
The specific game schedule and live broadcast schedule will be announced by the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) through its official X account.
This announcement by the LCK indirectly confirmed that the 2025 LCK Cup will be held as scheduled, and the tournament will not be forced to postpone due to the recent Jeju Air Flight 2216 crash.
If there are no last minute changes, the 2025 LCK Cup will also start as scheduled on January 15, 2025, local time.
Currently, it is still unknown which players will participate in this preseason tournament, but it is believed that T1's ace player Faker, who has won the LCK Player of the Year for two consecutive years, will definitely be one of the participants that fans are most looking forward to seeing.
