The Athletic exclusively reported Bournemouth's young center forward Daniel Jebbison has officially declared as Canada's national team player..

The Athletic's resident renowned Canadian Toronto FC team correspondent Joshua Kloke, exclusively reported on Tuesday that Bournemouth's young center forward Daniel Jebbison has officially declared as the nation's national team player.

According to Kloke's report, the Canadian Football Association had been planning to try to get Jebbison to declare a few years ago, but because the player has been unwilling to give up playing for the England youth national teams in the past few years, his declaring procedures has been repeatedly delayed.

In fact, the Canadian Football Association had intended to call-up Jebbison to its senior national team squad list for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the summer of 2023, but because the player had just been called-up to the England U21s national team's U21s FIFA World Cup squad list at the time, and Jebbison had not declared yet, the plan was eventually forced to be shelved.

After the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the Canadia national team's American head coach Jesse Marsch approached Jebison several times to try to change his mind.

In the end, the Bournemouth teenager was finally persuaded at the end of February and has completed the formalities of being declared as a Canadia national team player.

Currently, after FIFA completes the review and approval of his declaring procedures, Jebbison will be allowed to officially make his Canadia national team debut for Les Rouges.

At the same time, Kloke also revealed that the Canadian Football Association is also completing the procedures for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise's striker Promise David, who is of Nigerian descent to be declared as a Canadia national team player.

He said that since David has played for the Nigeria national team in the U23s African Cup of Nations, his declaring procedures will be more complicated, but FIFA has sent a written notice to the Canadian Football Association allowing David to try to be declared as a Canadia national team player.
