John McGinn, who currently plays for Aston Villa, believes that everyone in the team deserves this victory and everyone should enjoy the joy of advancing to the quarter-finals. Aston Villa defeated Club Brugge 3-0 with Marco Asensio scoring twice to help the team win.
Aston Villa are through to the quarter-finals of Europe's top club competition for the first time since 1983 and will face Paris Saint-Germain next, while Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also in the quarter-finals.
After the game, John McGinn was interviewed and said: "I think we were under a lot of pressure in this game. Despite this, Brugge is a great team. We respect them and know they are very competitive."
“It is undeniable that we were the worse team in the first half, but the most important thing is to keep a clean sheet and not give the opponent any chance to score first. This game was a rare opportunity for us, so it was a wonderful game.”
"It's great that we can go to Paris, hopefully that day will come soon, and I'm sure our performance will not disappoint everyone. I'm sure we will be in the competition, and we are one step closer to our goal."
"In football, we never know what's going to happen and now we're in the quarter-finals. We fully deserve this trophy and I think we did a great job in the Champions League. We all worked so hard to be in this position and every player deserves it."
"We 've been through tough times, and so have the fans, so we need to enjoy this. We want games like this to become a regular fixture at Villa Park and this is something the club, the players and the fans have earned. We are really proud and very happy."
