Gasperini eyes Atalanta win Italian Super Cup

Atalanta will go to King Saud University Stadium to challenge Inter Milan in the 2024/25 Italian Super Cup . Coach Gasperini said in an interview that participating in this event means a lot to them and that winning the game is very important.

In the 18th round of the Serie A earlier, Atalanta tied Lazio 1-1 away from home after Brescia Nini scored a goal when they were leading by one goal. Atalanta currently ranks first in the Serie A standings with 41 points and has been unbeaten in the past 13 games.

Atalanta coach Gasperini said, "After a series of good results, this will be a very important game. It is also a different game, a single knockout match that is decided in 90 minutes, so it needs to be treated from a different perspective."

“ Inter have been the strongest team over the past three years. The last two games have been very difficult for us, while the other games have been relatively even. We need to be especially careful and avoid conceding early goals, while trying to stay competitive for as long as possible in the game.”

It is worth mentioning that Atalanta has lost in the last five matches against Inter Milan in all competitions, including a 0-4 defeat to Inzaghi's team away from home in Serie A this season.

Gasperini continued, “We will participate in three finals in 2024, namely the Italian Cup, UEFA Europa League and European Super Cup. This is also our fourth final in these months.
