UEFA Nations League - Lukaku scored but failed to save the team, Ukraine reversed Belgium 3-1 and took the lead

In the first round of the UEFA Nations League A/B promotion and relegation play-offs, Ukraine and Belgium faced off at the new Condomina Stadium. Although Lukaku scored to give Belgium the lead, Ukraine still managed to reverse the situation with goals from Husuljak, Vanat and Zabarny. At the end of the game, Ukraine defeated Belgium 3-1.

First Half

Just 3 minutes into the game, Zinchenko broke into the penalty area and passed the ball back to the middle, but Tsygankov's long shot from the outside was saved by Courtois. In the 6th minute, Zinchenko passed the ball to Yaremchuk from the right side of the penalty area, and the latter's low shot was saved by Courtois again.

There were few offensive opportunities for both teams until the 40th minute, when De Bruyne made a free kick from the left side of the front court and Lukaku headed the ball into the net. Belgium also took the lead with this goal and entered the halftime break with a 1-0 lead.

Second Half

At the beginning of the second half, the two sides changed sides and continued the game. In the 49th minute, Mykolenko and Tsygankov completed a pass and cut and then shot from a distance, but Courtois caught it. In the 52nd and 55th minutes, De Bruyne made two consecutive cold arrows outside the penalty area, both of which were rejected by Lunin. In the 60th minute, Zinchenko took a free kick in the frontcourt and hit the right post. Tsygankov's subsequent shot was confiscated by Lunin again.

In the 66th minute, De Winter made a mistake in stopping the ball and was intercepted by Husuljak, who then shot into the lower left corner to equalize the score. In the 73rd minute, Tsygankov made a cross pass from the left side of the penalty area, and Vanat shot in front of the goal to help Ukraine score another goal. In the 78th minute, Zinchenko made a 45-degree diagonal pass from the right side of the penalty area, and Zabarny shot from close range to change the score to 3-1.

After that, neither side made any progress. Ukraine eventually reversed Belgium 3-1 and took the lead in the two-round match.
