There are only a handful of players in the NBA who have broken the 25,000-point mark, and Sacramento Kings star DeMar DeRozan has added another spot to that legendary list.
In the game between the Sacramento Kings and the Chicago Bulls at home, DeRozan reached a milestone in his career. His total score officially reached 25,000 points, becoming the 27th player in NBA history to achieve this achievement.
This historic moment occurred at 8 minutes and 32 seconds in the third quarter of the game. DeRozan hit a signature back-to-the-basket mid-range jump shot in a familiar offensive area, pushing his career total score to the 25,000-point mark. Afterwards, the game was suspended at 5 minutes and 42 seconds, and the fans in the stadium stood up and applauded to bless DeRozan.
In the post-game interview, DeRozan talked about this achievement and said: "It is always an honor. Being able to play in such a high-level league as the NBA is enough to make me proud."
"To be here in my 16th season and to be one of the all-time leading scorers in NBA history is something I never imagined."
The 35-year-old DeRozan has been in the NBA for 16 seasons. This season is his first year with the Sacramento Kings, but his competitive form remains at a high level.
DeRozan averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 48.6%. His three-point shooting percentage reached a career-high 35.6%. DeRozan demonstrated strong adaptability and competitiveness.
