Detian: Dortmund star Brandt intends to leave the team this summer and has contacted his agent to find a new club

Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt is considering leaving the club this summer, Sky Sports Germany exclusively reported on Friday.

Julian Brandt, 28, mainly plays as a front midfielder, but can also play as a left winger, right winger, central midfielder, etc. He joined Dortmund from Leverkusen for 25 million euros in 2019. So far, he has made 251 appearances, scored 44 goals and provided 60 assists, and won the German Cup and the German Super Cup with the team.

For Dortmund, Brandt has occasionally shown flashes since joining the team, but he still hasn't met the high expectations of the fans and the club. As for Brandt himself, he had intended to leave the team last summer, one of the reasons being differences with former coach Edin Terzic. Although Dortmund eventually kept Brandt as the vice-captain and the symbolic No. 10 jersey, he still failed to play a satisfactory leadership role.

Brandt's contract with Dortmund will last until June 2026. German Sky Sports pointed out that he has no plans to renew his contract at the moment and has started looking for a new club through his agent and father. However, no club has expressed interest in him yet.
