According to a report by Sheep Esports on Wednesday, Ukrainian e-sports club NAVI may return to the League of Legends arena. They are in in-depth negotiations with ReKTGlobal, the parent company of Rogue (also known as RGE), to purchase its LEC seat.
NAVI was founded in 2009 and has a strong track record in the Counter-Strike project. They are currently involved in multiple e-sports projects, including VALORANT, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Counter-Strike 2 (CS 2) and PUBG Mobile.
NAVI also formed a League of Legends division in 2012 to compete in the now-defunct League of Legends European League (LCL). Due to performance not meeting expectations, the division was eventually disbanded in 2017.
Sheep Esports has learned that the deal is expected to be finalized in the near future, and the seat replacement can be completed as early as the summer season. If the deal is successfully completed, NAVI will return to League of Legends after eight years and compete in the League of Legends European, Middle Eastern and African Champions League (LEC) for the first time. This will also be the first team change in LEC since KC replaced ADT in early 2024.
As for Rogue, they will officially exit League of Legends after the deal is completed. The club has been trying to sell its LEC seat in recent months, but has been unsuccessful: Saudi e-sports club FLC once bid for the seat last year, but was rejected by Riot Games. UAE team Nigma Galaxy also proposed a purchase plan, but ultimately failed to reach an agreement.
