Nottingham Forest have progressed to the FA Cup semi-finals after beating Brighton 4-3 on penalties, and manager Nuno Espirito Santo was delighted with the result.
Mats Sells saved two penalties in the shootout from Jack Hinshelwood and Diego Gomez, giving Ryan Yates the chance to help Nottingham Forest into the last four. After the victory, Nuno Espirito Santo said it was a dream come true to see the fans celebrating reaching the FA Cup semi-final for the first time since 1991.
"Every one of us is so happy and seeing the smiles on the fans' faces is a dream come true," said Nuno Espirito Santo.
"In this game, we controlled the situation in the first half and did a good job defensively. Although it was difficult to control Brighton, I think we did it."
"In the second half we made some changes and I felt we had space and had a clear chance to win the game. Once the game went into extra time, the players' energy dropped and that gave Brighton a chance.
"But, in conclusion I thought we played really well, we controlled the midfield and I thought we were in a dominant position against a team that was difficult to control. To get the win is a big moment for all of us, especially Ryan Yates, who is the captain of the club. Anyway, we have to focus on the next game."
