Manchester City confirm Erling Haaland is undergoing further assessment of left ankle injury

Premier League club Manchester City have confirmed that striker Erling Haaland injured his left ankle in the FA Cup and is undergoing further assessment to determine when he can return.

In Manchester City's FA Cup match against Bournemouth, Haaland was replaced in the 61st minute due to injury. Omar Marmouche came on as a substitute and scored the winning goal for Manchester City, helping Manchester City beat Bournemouth 2-1 and advance to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Manchester City will face Nottingham Forest on April 26 for a place in the final. However, it remains uncertain whether Haaland will be able to recover in time to play in this important semi-final.

A few days after the game, City released a statement that read: "Manchester City Football Club can confirm that striker Erling Haaland sustained a left ankle injury during Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final away to Bournemouth."

"The Norwegian striker underwent initial examination in Manchester on Monday morning and is currently seeking specialist consultation. The team's medical team is continuing to assess his injury to determine a full recovery timetable."

"However, the team expects Haaland to return for the remainder of the season and is expected to participate in this summer's Club World Cup. All club staff wish Haaland a speedy recovery, and Manchester City's official website will continue to update his recovery progress."

In addition, Manchester City is also trying its best to qualify for the Champions League. Manchester City has 48 points in the Premier League this season, ranking fifth, 1 point behind Chelsea, which is fourth. There are still 9 Premier League games to the end of the season. Manchester City must seize the opportunity to win the next game to qualify for the Champions League.
