Seattle Sounders announced on their official website on Tuesday that former Liverpool English winger Ryan Kent has joined the club as a free agent.
According to the Major League Soccer (MLS) club's official statement, Kent has signed on a short-term one-year deal, which will only run until the end of this season, with an option to extend for a further year. At the same time, Kent will also wear the No. 77 jersey.
About Ryan Kent
Ryan Kent, 28, was born in Oldham, England on November 11, 1996. He is 1.76 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger. He can also play as a right winger, center forward or attacking midfielder.
Kent joined Liverpool's famous Kirkby youth academy at the age of 7 and was promoted to Liverpool's first-team in 2015.
In September of the same year, Kent was loaned-out to Coventry City, where he was highly praised for his excellent performances.
In January 2016, Kent was recalled early and completed his Liverpool first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in an English FA Cup match shortly afterwards.
In July of the same year, Kent was loaned-out to Barnsley.
In August 2017, Kent was loaned-out to Freiburg, but was recalled early in January of the following year because he had no chance to play.
In January 2018, Kent was loaned-out to Bristol City, but during the spell, the Premier League giants had to fine Bristol City £100,000 for violating the loan agreement because he was deliberately not given playing time by the Robins.
In July of the same year, Kent was loaned-out to Rangers, and later because of his outstanding performances, his ownership was bought out on the 2019 summer transfer window deadline day.
After leaving the club when his contract had expired in the summer of 2023, Kent joined Fenerbahçe as a free agent, but he was not often given the opportunity to play, thus he had to terminate his contract and leave the club in October of the following year. Since then, he has been looking for a new club.
During his five-year spell with Rangers, Kent played 218 times for the club in all competitions, scored 33 goals, assisted 56 times, winning the Scottish Premiership once and the Scottish Cup once with the club.
