The Saudi Private Investment Fund (PIF) officially announced on Thursday through its official Twitter account that the total prize pool for the 2025 E-Sports World Cup will exceed $70 million.
According to PIF's official statement of PIF, with the increase in the total prize pool, the 2025 E-Sports World Cup will break the record and become the largest e-sports event with the highest total prize pool in history. At the same time, they also believe that by issuing such a high total prize pool, it will also promote the professional e-sports competition circle to become better and better, and achieve long-term sustainability and growth for the operating costs and profits of all professional e-sports teams.
At the same time, PIF also believes that this will encourage more players and investors in the professional e-sports circle to join the industry.
In addition, in addition to the total prize pool of $70 million to be issued during the 2025 E-Sports World Cup, PIF will also issue a total prize pool of $25 million in a number of joint and partnership programmes during this event. Among them, the team ranked first in the overall standings will receive a prize of $7 million, and the rest of the prize will be divided equally among the remaining teams in each event.
The 2025 Esports World Cup will be held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, from July 3 to August 25. During that time, 30 top professional esports teams from all over the world will compete for the honour of becoming the world's best e-sports team across 24 events including Dota 2, Counter Strike 2, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), Honor of Kings, StarCraft 2, Overwatch, League of Legends, EA FC and more.
