Official: The Chicago Bulls have signed G League forward Muhammadu Gueye to a contract that will run until the end of the season.

The Chicago Bulls announced Thursday that they have signed Muhammad Gaye to a contract that runs through the 2025/26 season. Under the current schedule, he can play a maximum of the remaining two regular-season games for the Bulls.

The official announcement also confirmed that Gaye will wear the Bulls' number 16 jersey.

The 27-year-old Gaye is a 2.06-meter tall, 95-kilogram forward who went undrafted in 2020 and played for the Texas Legends, Raptors 905, and Capitals Go-Go in the G League. So far this season, he has played 34 regular season games for the Chicago Bulls' affiliate , the Windy City Bulls, averaging 15.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 blocks in 31.4 minutes per game.

However, Gaye is not without NBA experience. In the 2023/24 season, he played 11 regular season games for the Toronto Raptors, averaging 2.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 10.9 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 28.9%.

For the Bulls, Gaye's arrival is a timely boon: after Jaden Ivey was waived last week due to controversial remarks, the Bulls' roster had been vacant. With Gaye's arrival, the Bulls' roster is now back to a full 18-man squad.
