FA Cup - Chiesa scores as Liverpool beat Accrington Stanley 4-0

The third round of the 2024/25 FA Cup staged another focus battle. Liverpool, playing at Anfield, defeated Accrington Stanley from League Two 4-0 with goals from Jota, Arnold, Jaden Dance and Chiesa.

Seven minutes into the game, Liverpool created an attacking opportunity. Tsimikas made a lob pass to the penalty area, and Nunez headed the ball from close range, but the ball went over the goal post. In the 12th minute, Tsimikas passed the ball to the top of the penalty area, and Arnold shot but was blocked by the goalkeeper Accrington Stanley. Then Nunez immediately shot but kicked the ball high.

In the 18th minute, Accrington Stanley counterattacked with a corner kick, and Liverpool goalkeeper Kelleher immediately rushed out to block the ball. In the 29th minute, Nunez received a pass from his teammate and entered the penalty area and then passed it to the front of the goal. Jota seized the opportunity and shot low to help Liverpool open the scoring with a 1-0 lead.

In the 36th minute, Elliot received the ball at the top of the penalty area and took a few steps before taking a long shot. However, because the shooting angle was too straight, the ball was directly intercepted by the goalkeeper of Accrington Stanley.

In the 45th minute, Ngumoha got the ball and shook off the defense to shoot but was cleared by the opponent. Arnold outside the penalty area received Soboslai's diagonal pass and scored with a long shot, helping Liverpool continue to lead Accrington Stanley 2-0.

In the end, Liverpool defeated Accrington Stanley 4-0 at home and successfully advanced to the next round.
