Brazilian Counter Strike 2 (CS2) club FURIA announced on Thursday through its official Twitter account that it will benched its Rifler skullz from the team and former Virtus.pro Entry Fragger YEKINDAR will join the team on-loan as a stand-in.
According to FURIA's official statement, YEKINDAR will play for the team on-loan until the end of the BLAST Austin Major.
About skullz
skullz, who is only 23 years old, was born in Brazil on April 20, 2002. He had already became a professional CS e-sports player in 2017, mainly as a Rifler.
skullz played for local Brazilian club w7m in 2018, during which he won the CLUTCH Season 2 with the team. Later, when he played for paiN Gaming, he also participated in the BLAST Paris Major with the team.
In December 2023, skullz joined Liquid.
During his half-year spell at Liquid, skullz won several American qualifiers with the team, but performed poorly in subsequent tournaments.
In July 2024, skullz joined FURIA.
During this spell, he participated in the Esports World Cup and Intel Extreme Masters Rio with the team, but lost to MOUZ both times.
About YEKINDAR
YEKINDAR, 25, was born in Latvia on October 4, 1999. He also became a professional CS e-sports player in 2017, mainly playing as a Rifler and a Entry Fragger.
YEKINDAR joined Virtus.pro (VP) in 2020.
During his two-year spell at VP, YEKINDAR won Flashpoint Season 2, DreamHack Open December 2020, and CS Summit Season 7 with the team.
In October 2022, YEKINDAR joined Liquid.
During his near two-and-a-half-year spell with Liquid, YEKINDAR helped the team win the runner-up in the ESL Pro League Season 16 and the BLAST Premier: World Final 2022, and reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 BLAST Paris Major.
