OG establishes a new South American team OG.LATAM to seek breakthroughs and create new glory

After years of struggling in Western Europe, OG officially announced the establishment of a new South American Dota 2 team, OG.LATAM, to start a new journey. On April 26, OG officially announced the signing of a new lineup consisting of several top Peruvian players, hoping to rekindle the glory of the past with the power of South America.

The OG.LATAM lineup includes: well-known core player K1, mid laner DarkMago, third position LICH-, fourth position support elmisho, fifth position MoOz, and coach Vintage. Before signing, except for K1, the other members played for M80, and K1 took a break after a short time playing for HEROIC in 2024.

OG.LATAM will compete in the South American region, with their debut scheduled for DreamLeague Season 26 on May 19. They won the South American qualifiers under the name "Perrito Panzon" and are currently training at their headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal.

This is OG's first official entry into South America and its second Dota 2 team. Although OG said it would retain its Western European main lineup, the series of losses in Western Europe in recent years has made the new South American team a focus of attention.

Since winning the ESL One Stockholm Major and the TI11 quarterfinals in 2022, OG has gradually fallen into a trough. Since 2023, OG has not won any championships, and frequent lineup changes have still failed to reverse the downward trend. This year, OG has only entered the main competition once in eight first-level events, with dismal results.

With the establishment of OG.LATAM, the outside world is paying attention to whether OG will gradually shift its focus to South America. OG.LATAM's performance in DreamLeague Season 26 may become the key to OG's future strategic adjustments.
