Riot Games unveiled the new League of Legends Pacific Professional League (LCP) e-sports arena in Datong District, Taipei this week, creating a permanent home for the region. From now on, all LCP events will be held in this new arena, supporting online live broadcasts and offline viewing. According to the official press release, the e-sports arena has been officially put into use since the mid-season stage, and the first batch of tickets for the opening week sold out in just 30 seconds, with a warm response.
Sean Oh, General Manager of Publishing and Esports, APAC, said: “We have always dreamed of having a permanent home for esports in the region, and now this dream has come true. This is not only a major milestone, but also a solid step in our journey to continuously enhance the esports experience for fans. It is so gratifying to see that the community is as enthusiastic as we are, and tickets sold out on the first day of sale. We can’t wait to welcome the live audiences and bring their energy, passion and excitement to every game, and work together to create the esports atmosphere we love.”
The completion of this e-sports arena was made possible by Carry International, which has been working with Riot Games for many years. Jerry Yen, chairman of Carry International, said that the opening of this venue is "a dream come true after many years of hard work" and believed that it will rekindle the passion of LCP fans for League of Legends e-sports.
At the opening ceremony, representatives from various teams, partners and Riot Games jointly signed a commemorative banner, which will be permanently displayed in the e-sports hall. In addition, CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO Team) also won the championship trophy of this season's LCP Opening Cup.
LCP event director Piotr Pilich said that the new home will provide CFO and other local teams with a platform to truly shine on the world stage.
