Amorim says Rashford needs to work hard

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim says he is unsure whether Marcus Rashford will continue to play for the Red Devils following rumours that the England international could leave.
In recent weeks, Rashford has been gradually excluded from Manchester United's plans. Amorim abandoned the 27-year-old player shortly after taking office, prompting Rashford to publicly express his desire to take on a new challenge and leave the club. In the last seven games, Rashford failed to enter the squad for six games, only entering the bench in the FA Cup against Arsenal, but did not get a chance to play.
Therefore, the rumors about Rashford's transfer have intensified. According to reports, AC Milan and Barcelona are both interested in signing Rashford in January, whether it is a loan plus buyout clause or a direct permanent transfer. Amorim revealed that he currently has no clear answer for the future of the England international, and Manchester United is also open to his departure.
"I don't know, we'll see. He's a Manchester United player. We'll see. He needs to work hard," Amorim told a news conference following United's FA Cup win over Arsenal.
"He needs to represent his club, he loves this club, but I have to make a choice. I've spoken before about how I make decisions. This is how it is. Let's move on and see what the next game is like, and like I said, I have to make a choice."
It currently looks likely that Rashford will not play for Manchester United before the end of the January transfer window. If the 27-year-old remains at Old Trafford, he could still return to the team and work hard to win back the trust of the coach.
