League of Legends reworks Black Rose Mask and temporarily stops making new skins

Today is the update day for League of Legends. Although the 25.10 patch has been officially launched and the full update log has been released, what really attracts players' attention is the 25.11 patch that will be launched on the test server. Riot announced that in order to redo the "Masque of the Black Rose" skin series, which has been criticized for its quality, they will temporarily stop the production of new skins, which also means that 25.11 will become a rare version without any new skins.

At the beginning of the year, the quality of skin content in League of Legends encountered a big crisis of trust. High-priced skins were frequently complained by players as "flashy but not practical", and the most representative of them was the "Mask of the Black Rose" series. This series is inspired by the mysterious organization "Black Rose" in the Valoran continent. The visual concept and illustrations are eye-catching. When it was launched, it was also launched with the battle pass, which seemed to be coming in full force.

However, when players actually entered the canyon and used these skins, they were slapped in the face by reality. The gap between the original pictures and the actual combat triggered a lot of criticism, especially in terms of models, textures and special effects. In order to restore the reputation of players, Riot has carried out an in-depth visual remake of the series in the 25.11 patch. The skins of the four heroes, Elise, Renata Glasc, Samira and Vladimir, will show new models, textures and VFX effects on the PBE test server. However, such a large-scale revision also brings a "cost". Riot admitted in the 25.10 update log: "We have suspended the new skins originally planned to be launched in this cycle to free up energy to allow the 'Black Rose Mask' skin series to receive more polishing and remakes, including comprehensive improvements to models, textures, and visual effects."

This means that patch 25.11 will not have any new skins, which is almost unprecedented for League of Legends, which is known for its "skin frequency".
