In the BLAST.tv Austin Major which officially started on June 3, OG team player nicoodoz shocked the CS e-sports circle with his amazing performance.
In the opening match against the host Complexity, nicoodoz scored a 3.08 map score, tying the highest single-map score record in the history of offline Counter-Strike Major events, helping OG to easily win the "Ancient" map with a score of 13-3 and start the journey with strength.
In this match, OG was not favored in the first match of the Swiss round, especially since their opponent Complexity was one of the favorites to advance. Although Junior replaced Hallzerk due to visa issues, they still had strong strength. However, in the map BP, they accidentally released Ancient, OG's best team, which became the foreshadowing of the defeat.
Nicoodoz died only 6 times, but he got 33 kills and 8 assists, becoming the biggest contributor to the victory. This score tied the record set by WorldEdit in ELEAGUE S1 in 2016, and also refreshed the peak performance of the individual on the CS Major stage.
The game was also very exciting. After OG won the pistol round and the transition round on the CT side, Complexity once recovered two points. Then nicoodoz stepped up and led OG to 7 consecutive wins. In the 10th round, he scored four kills while defending the B point. At the end of the half, he led 9-3. In the second half, nicoodoz added 7 kills to help OG quickly end the game.
Although OG lost to B8 in the second round, nicoodoz still delivered impressive data (19 kills and 8 assists), becoming the most stable output of the team. The current record is 1 win and 1 loss. OG needs to win two more games in the next three rounds to advance to the second stage of the Major.
