Team Spirit defeated Astralis to win the PGL Astana 2025 championship

In the final of the "CS2" international event PGL Astana 2025, the Russian powerhouse Team Spirit defeated the Danish veteran team Astralis 3-1, winning the second championship trophy of the year and a championship prize of US$200,000.

Team Spirit was strong all the way this time, advancing from the group stage with a 3-0 record, and defeating NiP and FURIA in the knockout stage to enter the finals. Astralis, led by temporary commander HooXi, defeated NAVI and Aurora in a row, setting a new record for the best S-level result since 2020.

In the first map of the finals, Dust II, Team Spirit quickly showed its dominance, leading by 11-1 and eventually ending the game within 18 rounds. In the second map, Nuke, the two teams were tied at one point, but Donk once again performed bravely, finishing the game with 1 vs 3 at the critical moment, helping the team win another game.

In the third map, Mirage, Astralis played to their full potential, winning 10 consecutive games to complete the counterattack and tie the score. However, in the decisive map, Train, although Astralis led in the first half, Team Spirit chased the points in the second half and finally won the victory in overtime with Donk leading the team, winning the series and the championship with 16-13.

Donk's performance in this game was still outstanding. He stepped forward many times to turn the situation around. Sh1ro, Chopper and others also performed stably, showing the overall strength of Team Spirit.

With this championship, Team Spirit has won two titles, BLAST Bounty Spring and PGL Astana, in 2025. Coupled with the victory in the Shanghai Major at the end of last year, the team will advance into the BLAST.tv Austin Major in the second half of the year in a strong position, becoming the favorite to win the championship after Team Vitality.
