Kerr: Refuse to sacrifice the future for the championship and avoid blind trades

Steve Kerr reiterated on Tuesday that the Warriors have no immediate intention of making trades that could overdraft the future in order to compete for a championship.
The Golden State Warriors have been in a slump this season, currently ranking 12th in the Western Conference with a record of 19 wins and 20 losses. They lost to the Toronto Raptors 101-104 yesterday, and their winning rate this season also fell below 50% for the first time.
It is generally believed that the Warriors should bring in strong reinforcements for Curry to impact the championship, but Kerr clearly opposes this. When asked whether he should take action before the trade deadline, he responded: "I trust the team 100% Management will make the right decision. Sometimes the right thing to do is not to take action, but to keep the status quo. Different decisions depend on the specific situation and the possible consequences. Mike (general manager Mike Dunleavy) is very capable. Excellent, I have every confidence in him and the management. They are looking at all possibilities.”
Kerr believes that short-term success should not be pursued at the expense of the team's future. He also revealed that he has reached a consensus with Curry, Green and others: "Our current situation is special and difficult, but it is not anyone's fault... Trading everything for one last shot at a championship would be an extremely irresponsible move for the organization, and I’ve discussed this with Steph (Curry) and Draymond (Green).”
"We are on the same page. The players, management and ownership are on the same page. We trust each other and we are in this together. We are united and no matter where we go, we are in this together."
After the Warriors lost to the Raptors yesterday, Curry expressed a similar view. He believes that the Warriors should not make any reinforcement plans that may jeopardize the team's future: "Desperate trades or moves may cost the team in the long run. Our responsibility is to make sure the team is in good shape for the future, especially at the end of our careers. That doesn’t mean we don’t work hard to improve or take advantage of potential opportunities.”
"If there is a reasonable trade opportunity or the possibility of strengthening through the free agent market in the summer, we will certainly take it. We want to keep improving, and no one wants to stagnate or miss opportunities. But this does not mean that we should Hasty action, blindly squandering all assets. "
Draymond Green also supported this idea in an interview after the victory over the Pistons: "The reason why we are in a wonderful position is that Steve (Kerr), Stephen (Curry) and I disagreed for the sake of Pursue the present and sacrifice the future. Bad teams trade the future for the present, and we are not that kind of team."
