Ipswich Town announced on Wednesday that Aston Villa's 22-year-old local winger Jayden Filogen has officially joined the club. Both parties have signed a four-and-a-half-year contract until June 30, 2029.
According to previous reports, Jaden Philogan's transfer fee is 20 million pounds plus floating. When he returned to Villa last year, the repurchase price was 13 million pounds, and the contract was signed until 2029.
Jaden Filogen joined Aston Villa's youth training at the age of 15 and made his first Premier League debut for the first team on May 19, 2021. He was then loaned to Stoke City and Cardiff City until September 2023, when he moved permanently to Hull City for £5 million.
Phil Logan had a successful season at Hull City, contributing 12 goals and 6 assists in 32 games. Since July last year, he has only played 15 times for Aston Villa, 11 of which were as a substitute.
Regarding the arrival of Phil Logan, Ipswich coach Kieran McKenna recently said: "Jaden is a player we are very optimistic about. We tried to sign him in the previous transfer window and think that his characteristics are very consistent with the style of Ipswich."
"Most importantly, Jayden was very eager to join our club. Although the transfer process took a little longer than originally expected, Jayden always believed in our project."
"He is not only interested in joining now, but also last summer. As everyone knows, we tried to bring in Jaden in the summer window. At that time, many old Premier League clubs were interested in him, but he made it clear that he wanted to join us."
"We eventually tried to complete the transfer but it didn't happen due to contractual issues with Aston Villa. He also returned to his previous club."
"He has been very keen to sign us over the past few transfer windows. He is a player we know and like very well and we hope to bring him into the squad."
After completing the signing, Phil Logan said: "I am very happy to be here. I know there are many excellent players in the team. I just want to play as much as possible. As a player, I like dribbling, organizing offense, and contributing goals and assists to the team. I am looking forward to new challenges at Ipswich."
