Ryan Gravenberch believes teams must start strong

Liverpool's Ryan Gravenberch says his team must start strong from the start against Brentford. Ryan Gravenberch and his team-mates know the reasons for their recent slow starts and are determined to avoid a repeat against Brentford.

Liverpool have fallen behind in five of their last seven Premier League games, though their resilience means they haven't lost any of them. Next up for Liverpool is an away game against Brentford, and Ryan Gravenberch said: "It's certainly going to be a difficult game."

"We also know from last season that it's not easy. We have to give our all and we need to start the game better and I think that will give us a great chance to win the game."

“The reason we started slowly was because of the intensity and I think when we look back it was just an intensity issue with our pressing and deep runs and things like that. We have to give that from the start and then it will definitely change.”

"I think we didn't start very well and we gave them chances, so in the end we were 1-0 down. We knew before the game that it was not going to be an easy game, and when you're behind, it becomes more difficult. But I think we created a lot of chances in the second half, but we just didn't take them. It's a bit disappointing, but I think we played well in the second half."

Under the leadership of coach Arne Sloter, Ryan Gravenberch has become a regular player in the team's midfield. This season, Ryan Gravenberch has played for the team for about 500 minutes more than in the 2023-24 season.

The player has started every Premier League and Champions League game so far this season and was asked how he stays fit and active during a physically demanding season.

Ryan Gravenberch said: "I just want to give my best on the pitch and I want to show myself every day. In addition, I have to take good care of my body. I have done a lot of work in recovery, so I am happy with the playing time now."
