Josh Acheampong says he has become more confident and enjoys playing football more

Josh Acheampong, who currently plays for Chelsea, got his chance in the English Football Association League and made his first start in the Premier League against Crystal Palace, where the fans voted him the best player of the match. Josh Acheampong's performance was mature beyond his age and he was awarded a new contract in December.  

Looking back at Josh Acheampong's growth on the court, the defender has experienced many challenges along the way. But he has received valuable support from his teammates, coaches and family, everyone is helping him, and Josh Acheampong has seized the opportunity.  

Josh Acheampong said: "I am more confident now and I enjoy playing football more. When you are young, you always want to move to the next age group and you will face a lot of pressure. However, I am more mature now and I really enjoy playing football now."  

"Now that I have this opportunity, I work hard every day in training. My teammates remind me why I'm here and push me to stay focused. If I don't do something, they blame me right away."  

"I really like Enzo Maresca, his attention to detail on the pitch is great and he is very nice off the pitch. He wants me to show my personality on and off the pitch and tells me to be confident. To be brave and show my abilities both on and off the pitch."  

Josh Acheampong also said: "You can't slack off. The players are great, which helps me to raise my level to another level. You never know when the opportunity will come. For example, in the game against Crystal Palace, I didn't expect that I would start so soon. But when the opportunity comes to you, you must be prepared."
