Fiorentina officially announced that Nicolas Valentini has joined the club as a free agent after leaving Boca Juniors. Both parties have signed a four-and-a-half-year contract until June 30, 2029.
According to an official statement, Valentini will wear the No. 14 jersey in Florence . His joining is to fill the central defender vacancy left by Nikola Milenkovic, who moved to Nottingham Forest for 12.3 million euros in July last year.
The 23-year-old Nicolas Valentini was born in Junin, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, and joined Boca Juniors in 2016. He made his professional debut in the Argentine Professional League Cup on May 8, 2021, and has played 47 times so far, contributing 2 goals and winning the 2021/22 Argentine Super Cup with the team.
After completing the transfer, Valentini said before the first training: "I am very happy to join Fiorentina. We started training today and I am very happy to be here."
"I will do everything to make the fans happy. Viola Park is beautiful," he concluded.
According to Italian media reports, Fiorentina will continue to promote other signings after signing Valentini. Their next target is 26-year-old Napoli midfielder Michael Florensio , aiming to fill the vacancy left by Bovi after his move to Rome.
Michael Florenzo joined Napoli in 2019 and was subsequently loaned to Bari, Reggina, Pordenone and Verona. His contract with Napoli is valid until 2029, but he has only played 7 times so far, without any goals or assists.
Various signs indicate that the transfer is expected to be completed in the form of a loan plus a buyout. Florencia is very likely to be officially announced on Saturday local time, with a buyout clause of 8 million to 9 million euros.
