Jesper Lindström: It feels great to score and win

Everton's Jesper Lindstrom has promised to use his impressive individual performance against Tottenham as motivation to continue producing similar performances for the club.  

In this game, manager David Moyes adjusted the formation and deployed Jesper Lindstrom on the flexible right wing. The international played a mixed role of full-back and more advanced in front of Jesper Lindstrom's close friend and Premier League rookie Jack O'Brien. Jesper Lindstrom performed well in the new role.  

No player made more tackles and interceptions than Jesper Lindstrom in Everton's match against Tottenham. In addition, Jesper Lindstrom also made 3 interceptions, showing his defensive strength.  

Jesper Lindström said: "It was great to score and win, we haven't scored enough goals for a while. For me, it's always nice to score a goal because when you score you win the game and it's a great feeling."  

"I feel good personally. Sometimes I am more defensive and I am more of an attacking player. But now I am working hard for the team and it feels good to play here and to press high. It feels really good. Now we are higher up the pitch, we can run faster and feel better."  

"I can safely say that this was my best performance so far for Everton and it gave me a lot of confidence. When I have the ability and freedom to play and do something on my own, it brings freedom for you and for the whole team. I think I can contribute more to the team and I showed some of that today and I think it was one of my best performances in recent times."  

"Now I just want to have the energy, to play, to start, to play like we did today and that's why we worked so hard in training. So I have to keep working hard in training and keep having good performances in the games and hopefully more of them in the future because I think I helped the team today and that's what I want to do in every game."  

Speaking about Jesper Lindstrom's conversation with head coach David Moyes, he said: "We had a short chat because he has a lot to do at the moment, getting to know everyone, training and doing other things. We've been training hard and I think it's a good start. I think we're enjoying working with him and the fans are enjoying him too."  

David Moyes praised Jesper Lindstrom's performance in an interview after the game, praising his influence at both ends of the pitch. David Moyes said: "I think Jesper Lindstrom's goal played an important role for the team and his performance was also very good."  

"He was the one who made a couple of runs and got the ball and I was really impressed with him. Jesper Lindstrom is a very talented football player and I thought he was very impressive today. We don't want him to be an out-and-out full-back, we want him to be a right-back at times and play a little further out. So, we try to use Jesper Lindstrom in two or three different roles, but I think he does a good job defensively as well."
