Maresca defends Sanchez's mistake as Chelsea beat Wolves 3-1

Chelsea beat Wolves 3-1 at home and entered the top four of the Premier League. Robert Sanchez's mistake allowed Wolves to equalize through Matt Doherty's goal, but goals from Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke ensured the Blues' victory. This game allowed Wolves to remain outside the relegation zone with a goal difference advantage.

In this Premier League match, Chelsea won a crucial victory with goals from Cucurella and Madueke in the second half, redeeming the face of goalkeeper Sanchez's mistake. In the first half stoppage time, Sanchez made a major mistake in defending a corner kick and failed to control the ball near the goal post, allowing Doherty to easily make up the shot and help Wolves tie the score to 1-1.

However, Chelsea's Spanish defender Cucurella scored from close range in the 60th minute to give the Blues the lead again. Just five minutes later, Noni Maduekai used Trevo Chalobah's header to score from close range to extend the score to 3-1. These two goals sealed Chelsea's victory.

After the game, Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca defended goalkeeper Sanchez. In an interview with Sky Sports, he said: "Is this his fourth mistake that led to the goal? But he definitely blocked more than four key balls for us. Mistakes are inevitable. Whether it is a goalkeeper, a striker or a central defender, Robert's performance is generally very good."

This victory ended Chelsea's five-game losing streak and helped the team rise to fourth place in the standings, two points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester City. Wolves, on the other hand, suffered three consecutive defeats and are currently barely out of the relegation zone with only a goal difference advantage.
