Fnatic signs Cypher to revamp Counter-Strike 2 lineup for the second half of the year

English e-sports club Fnatic officially announced that it has signed British rifler Cypher to complete the main lineup of "Counter-Strike 2" and will work together to compete in all remaining important events in the 2025 season.

Cypher previously played for BC.GAME Esports and performed steadily for five months. This transfer is to fill the vacancy left by MATYS, who moved to G2 Esports during the player transfer period after the Paris Major.

In 2023, Cypher advanced to the BLAST.tv Paris Major knockout stage as a member of Into the Breach, and became famous. Since then, he has played for TSM and BLEED Esports, showing his strength in many international competitions.

Over the past year, Cypher has won numerous online events such as CCT and Thunderpick World Championships, and won the runner-up in the 2024 MESA Nomadic Masters Spring Tournament, firmly establishing himself as one of the top players in England.

Fnatic is a veteran team in the Counter-Strike project, having won three Major championship trophies in 2013 and 2015. However, its performance has been up and down in recent years, and it failed to advance in the 22nd season of the ESL Pro League. However, it won the Conquer Prague 2025 championship in June this year, which injected a shot of confidence into the team.

Currently, Fnatic ranks 29th in the Valve regional rankings and still has the potential to advance to the Major. The new lineup is expected to be officially unveiled on August 1 at RES Showdown 2, which is also the closed qualifier for the BLAST London Open in September.

The team will also continue to compete in CCT Season 3 European Series #4 and has confirmed its participation in BLAST Bounty Season 2. The two major events will provide Fnatic with key opportunities to consolidate its top 32 position in VRS and impact the Budapest Major.
