Shopify Rebellion announces its withdrawal from Dota 2

Shopify Rebellion, a well-known North American e-sports organization, announced its official withdrawal from the "Dota 2" event, disbanding the current lineup and suspending the project operations.
Co-founder TLO said that the team's performance in the past two years has not been as good as expected. Although this decision is difficult, for the sake of player development, it was decided to release all members unconditionally and allow them to freely seek opportunities in the next stage.
Shopify Rebellion entered the Dota 2 scene in early 2023, taking over the former Evil Geniuses North American roster. The team, featuring star players such as Arteezy and Abed, quickly dominated North America and achieved impressive results in numerous international tournaments, including fourth place at the Lima Major, third place at DreamLeague Season 19, and runner-up at DreamLeague Season 21.
However, after a major roster overhaul at the end of the season, the team fell into a period of frequent restructuring and sluggish performance. They failed to qualify for The International for two consecutive years and even lost to Nouns and Wildcard in the North American region, showing a significant decline in their performance. Ultimately, this team, once considered the hope of North America, also chose to say goodbye.
The departure of Shopify Rebellion marks the withdrawal of another major North American team from "Dota 2" after TSM, EG, and Nouns. Currently, only Wildcard, in which anchor Amouranth has a stake, is left surviving.
Despite his withdrawal, TLO emphasized that this is not a permanent farewell: "I believe this is a temporary farewell. I will still follow Dota and cheer for my favorite players like a fan during TI."
