American Counter Strike 2 team NRG announced Thursday through its official X (Twitter) account that the team has parted ways with nosraC and signed former Wildcard rifler Sonic as his replacement.
According to NRG's official statement, Sonic will make his debut this week at the Fragville.
About nosraC
nosraC, 25, was born in the United States on February 24, 2000, and primarily plays as a rifler.
nosraC has been a professional Counter Strike esports player since 2018.
nosraC previously played for iNTACT, Recon, Levitate, Rebirth, ChocoCheck, Gaimin Gladiators (GG), and Nouns.
During this time, he won the ESEA Cash Cup North America several times.
After a brief stint with Getting Info in the first half of 2025, nosraC joined NRG in July.
During his time with NRG, nosraC helped the team win the ESL Challenger League Season 50 North America Series 1.
About Sonic
Sonic, 26, was born in South Africa on December 2, 1998. He began playing Counter Strike professionally in 2014, primarily as a rifler but can also play as a AWPer.
Sonic began his professional career with eNergy and joined Bravado in 2015.
During his three-and-a-half year spell with Bravado, Sonic helped the team win the Telkom DGL Masters Finals, the MettleState Samsung Galaxy Championship Finals, and the DreamHack Mumbai Invitational.
In 2019, Sonic played for ATK and Envy.
The following year, Sonic moved to Cloud9 (C9). During his time there, he reached the semifinals of Flashpoint Season 1 with the team.
In 2021, Sonic joined Extra Salt.
During this time, he won the DreamHack Open North America twice.
From July 2022 to November of the following year, Sonic played for Nixuh and Bad News Bears.
After leaving Bad News Bears, Sonic joined Wildcard.
During his time with Wildcard, Sonic won the Ice and Fire European Championship and achieved a top-six finish in the BLAST Rivals Spring.
