Chinese team Xtreme Gaming achieved another success at the 2025 International Invitational (TI), defeating the Eastern European powerhouse BetBoom Team 2-0 and successfully entering the loser's bracket final, just one step away from the finals.
In the first game, Xtreme took the initiative with a stronger composition. Ame's Anti-Mage and Xm's Death Prophet suppressed the opposing core, while Xxs's Earthshaker delivered a devastating ultimate in a crucial teamfight, securing the victory in 63 minutes.
The second game was full of twists and turns. BetBoom established a strong rhythm around Pure's Faceless Void, and at one point, they secured the high ground with the Aegis of the Immortal. However, Pure misplayed Xm's Leshrac at a crucial moment, triggering his newly acquired Void Crown and leading to a series of errors from BetBoom. Xtreme seized the opportunity to stage a comeback, once again ending the match in 63 minutes for a 2-0 victory.
Xtreme Gaming successfully advanced to the lower bracket finals, where a win would secure them a spot in the Grand Finals. However, BetBoom finished fourth, taking home $158,000, their best TI result in team history.
Xtreme Gaming's performance at this year's TI was truly remarkable. They advanced to the knockout stage with a perfect record and defeated Tundra Esports in the first round of the playoffs, but they fell to PARIVISION in the lower bracket. They subsequently defeated Nigma Galaxy and BetBoom Team, demonstrating their resilience and form.
This victory also rekindled hope for the Chinese region. Ame, once known as the uncrowned king, along with veterans Xm, Xxs, XinQ, and xNova, all members of the team had never won a championship. Now, they were just two games away from their dream.
In the loser's bracket final, Xtreme Gaming will face PARIVISION again. If they can successfully take revenge, they will become the first Chinese team to reach the finals since 2021, facing a strong opponent Team Falcons.
